Have you tried Kashi Halwa?
The popular South Indian delicacy requires no more than a handful of ingredients and simply melts in your mouth. Here’s how you make it!
Ingredients:
Ash Gourd 2 ½ cups
Sugar 1 ½ cups
Cardamom 1 tsp
Yellow Food Colouring ⅛ tsp
Ghee 2 tbsp
Cashews 50g
Plums 25g
Method:
Start by finely grating ash gourd with a grater and add it to a pan.
Add sugar, cardamoms and yellow food colouring to the pan and mix until well combined.
In a separate pan, lightly toast cashews and plums in ghee.
Add the toasted cashew and plums to the ash gourd mixture and continue cooking with a bit of ghee. Take it off the heat and your Kashi Halwa is ready to be served. Enjoy!
